Introduction for VALUED Volunteer Orientation

The VALUED Volunteer Orientation Program began in 2005 and is intended for all new and inexperienced 4-H leaders.  The series consists of six topics that are offered through a variety of delivery formats – web-based lessons, via the teleconferencing system, and face-to-face meetings.  The topics in Orientation Series include Volunteer Role in 4-H, Club Organization, Program Planning, Positive Youth Development/BIG M, Communication in a Club, and Experiential Learning. Each session lasts one hour and volunteers receive special recognition when they complete all six sessions.  A VALUED Volunteer Training Series follows for more experienced 4-H leaders and features nine additional topics.
